Building Learning Centers
OCI's Work has Enabled:
- Construction and on-going operation of the Dr. Robert Ouko Memorial Community Library.
- Construction and on-going operation of the Dr. Robert Ouko Primary School (K-8, 300 students).
- Re-painting and refurbishing floors in classrooms and teacher offices.
- Building a community space with learning resources and access to technology.
- Providing mobile chalkboards for outdoor use.
Our Goals:
- Develop a model public school of excellence.
- Decrease overcrowding and increase teacher-student ratio.
- Improve the physical learning environment in local schools.
- Provide a central location to enable learning and training programs to be disseminated.
- Operate a library to strengthen the community reading culture and improve literacy.
- Provide community access to technology that would otherwise be out of reach.
- Provide electricity to facilitate E-Reader/ Computer charging, lighting and internet access.
